MADEGLUCYL™, the natural way to maintain healthy blood sugar levels

Indena presents its new patented botanical derivative for healthy blood sugar levels

Milan, April 26th, 2005 – A patented dietary supplement specifically developed to maintain normal blood glucose levels Madeglucyl™, will be presented by the Italian company Indena at the exhibition “Vitafoods” in Geneva, Europe’s largest nutraceutical trade show, which runs from 10th to 12th of May 2005.

Madeglucyl™ is produced from the seeds of Eugenia jambolana (also known as Syzygium cumini), an edible plant long used as a remedy in Madagascar folk medicine. Indena, in fact, is deeply committed to ethnopharmacology, regarding the traditional use of plants as an important starting point for scientific researches. Madeglucyl™ had its efficacy proven by clinical data, obtained from studies in Madagascar, US and Germany, where it demonstrated a good tolerability and a significant effect already 15 days after starting the treatment.

“The maintenance of healthy blood sugar levels through physical exercise and an appropriate dietary regimen is a pivotal step in preventing impaired glucose tolerance with all the possible later complications warned Paolo Morazzoni, Indena Scientific Director – Madeglucyl™ is the ideal candidate as a dietary supplement in this condition, since it can provide a safe and effective aid in correcting impaired carbohydrate metabolism”.

Toxicological and pharmacological data confirmed that Madeglucyl™ is devoid of any side effects and can provide a support in maintaining normal sugar levels in several experimental conditions.
Only food grade solvents permitted by European directives are used to produce Madeglucyl™ which is the fruit of Indena’s technological and scientific know-how in botanical derivatives.
An innovative product, Madeglucyl™ is part of a new series of dietary supplements marketed by Indena in its healthfood range.

All are welcome to attend a seminar on Madeglucyl™ to be held at Vitafoods (12th of May 2005, from 11:40 to 12.10) and to visit Indena at Stand 140.
