Discover the next-generation of CDMO services

Over the years, we have accrued remarkable experience as a CDMO implementing high-containment solution for new high potent NCEs: we currently manufacture 12 commercial HPAPIs of synthetic, semi-synthetic and fermentation origin. We constantly invest in our state-of-the-art equipment, which includes a multi-purpose GMP plant, spray dryers using organic solvents, and industrial suites with dozens of meters of glove boxes.

That’s why, at Indena, we have the open attitude, scientific knowledge and top-notch infrastructure to help you take a leap forward. Like we did with Australian company Qbiotics, scaling the lab process up to industrial level after they identified an oncological candidate through a cutting-edge mechanism inspired by biodiversity and the ecosystem.

What’s next? At the beginning of 2024, we will inaugurate a whole new R&D area to help our clients push pharmaceutical innovation even further.

Case in point: in the 1990s, we started our own yew plantation to create a sustainable, commercial-scale supply chain for the first oncological blockbuster drug, Paclitaxel, extracted from the tree’s bark. We also invented a new industrial method do extract and purify the intermediate 10-Deacetylbaccatin III, devised a robust analytical frame in compliance with stringent regulations, and refined our own synthetic methods to convert 10-Deacetylbaccatin III into the final API.
