The epidemic of the century

Stress has been described as “the epidemic of the century” by WHO: it spreads like wildfire – affecting 8 out of 10 people in Italy, for example(1) – and impacts our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

A lifestyle that forces us to be always “on” is a common culprit, be it because of our collective addiction to social media or a remote working arrangement brought on by the pandemic. Constant multitasking, high-performance culture, worry about current events: there are endless causes that make our lifestyles particularly demanding. To the point that managing our mood and mind might become a challenge.

When support is needed, two botanical ingredients are proven to help recover and maintain people’s physical and emotional wellbeing: grape seeds and Ginkgo biloba.

Enovita®: the powerful grape seed extract

The skin and, most importantly, the seeds of Vitis vinifera are rich in proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which are antioxidant, immunomodulatory, cardio and neuroprotective agents(2).

With over 40 years of experience in grape seed extract production, Indena has developed Enovita®: a food-grade, proprietary OPC-rich extract, made exclusively with grape seeds from white wine production and water as extraction solvent.

Improve stress resilience, naturally

A recent human study, focused on Enovita®’s effects on blood pressure, actually revealed an unexpected benefit for mental health: a statistically significant reduction in worries after supplementation, with a positive effect on stress and mood(3). This is an interesting scientific result today, as we all need to boost our resilience against higher stress levels and the consequences they have on our body and mind. Nature is providing us with a single extract to protect our heart as well as our good mood.

Virtiva® Plus: change your mind with Ginkgo biloba

Demanding lifestyle and stressful times often challenge concentration and memory. In this case, Nature comes to our rescue with Ginkgo biloba, used in China since ancient times to improve mental functions.

With Virtiva® Plus, Indena blends this plant’s standardized alcoholic extract with lecithin, in a synergistic formulation containing 20% phosphatidylserine, the major phospholipid in the brain. Rapidly absorbed, it crosses the blood-brain barrier and modulates neurotransmitter systems – benefiting memory, learning, vocabulary skills, and concentration(4).

Focus, remember, and perform at higher levels

Human studies have demonstrated that Virtiva® Plus can improve mental and memory performance in young adults. Specifically, a randomized, double-blind, placebo- controlled, balanced crossover study on 28 healthy subjects showed that it enhances memory task performance after as little as a single dose(5).
