プラジュマリン

Prajmaline is a derivative of ajmaline, an alkaloid that comes from the root of Rauwolfia vomitoria, and is characterized by anti-arrhythmic properties.

Although ajmaline is recommended in the acute therapy of supra- or ventricular tachycardias, prajmaline is considered effective too: among all the related substances, it can reach an immediate effect, a greater duration of action and effective oral long-term treatment of tachycardia. Not only, it is featured by a low toxicity.

Prajmaline is supported by several studies where it has been highlighted its efficacy against premature supra- and ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia or flutter, parasystolic foci and supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardia.
